This piece was created in November 2025 during a time when I felt fearful for me and my family with the increase in immigration enforcement in Charlotte. I felt like chain link fences helped to describe the exclusionary feeling I had and the felt boundary that was being created in the United States. The hole in the fence describes the hope that I still choose to carry with me and believe in.
